Welcome to Clanbrooke Racing
This site is designed to provide Syndicate and Partnership Members as well
as members of the Racing Community with the most current information about
Clanbrooke Racing's various racing news and opportunities.
For current Clanbrooke Members, our Members Web provides current information
on your horse - progress to date as well as upcoming opportunities. It also
enables you to get a better idea of trainers’ opinions and whether your
horse is a punting prospect. For a general overview of Clanbrooke's stable,
including recent winners, the News page is updated weekly. A list of weekly
runners is also provided on the right hand side of the Clanbrooke home page.
Our Stable is also a good reference if you want to follow other Clanbrooke
Racing horses currently in work. It explains exactly where a particular
stable horses began - what they have achieved to date and details of their
next start. If you want to follow up on a horse that has retired, our
Archives may answer your questions.
Our Shares for Sale page outlines pedigrees and other relevant information
relating to the horses currently available, offered usually as 10 share
Partnerships. However, if you are thinking of putting your toe in the water
for the first time, have a look at our Shares for Lease page. Alternately,
if you are looking for a whole horse to purchase, see our Horses for Sale
page. We have also introduced two additional pages - the Share Exchange page
which advertises shares available in two situations: 1. Single shares in
existing Partnerships either Managed by Clanbrooke or external trainers or
2. Shares available in Partnerships that are not Managed by Clanbrooke. The
second additional page is the Country Shares page that lists (often cheaper)
shares available in exclusively `country syndications.' This is a great way
to experience the world of horse ownership without having to outlay large
sums of money and often continue with lower monthly fees, reflecting their
country training base.
Clanbrooke stable horses are trained in a variety of locations, ranging from
Tony Vasil's stables at Caulfield, to Shane Fliedner in Bendigo with others
at Benalla, Mornington, Bangholme, Albury, Wodonga and Flemington. We
believe that such a diversity of training locations ensures that various
lifestyle and budgetary requirements can be accommodated.
Clanbrooke Racing offers flexible payment arrangements for those wishing to
spread the cost of the initial share over three months (where approved). We
offer Direct Debit and Credit Card facilities so that set monthly fees can
be deducted automatically.
For people interested in becoming part of a Racing Syndicate but unable to
find something suitable, our Subscribe section enables you to let us know
about any preferences you may have. We will mail you with details when an
appropriate Syndicate becomes available.
Feel free to Contact Us with any other queries that you may have and have a
look at our Racing Links for a broader look at the Australian Racing
Industry.
Clanbrooke History
Clanbrooke Racing is the trading name for syndicates operated by Clanbrooke Pty Ltd. Commencing in 1997, Clanbrooke Syndicates are managed by Dean and Brooke Humphries on a day to day basis. Dean is a CPA with a Business Degree and a long history of involvement in the racing industry.
One of the great joys of being a racing follower is the idea that one day, maybe you can own a racehorse of your very own. For most people however, owning a racehorse remains a dream. A dream that is, until Syndication came along. Syndication in one form or another has been around for a very long time. However it was not until the 1970’s and 80’s that using this vehicle for owning and racing horses became an art form. As the use of Syndication in the racing industry started to increase, both Government and the Industry commenced to lay down specific rules and regulations by which Dealers had to comply. Today a Dealer must be licensed by both bodies before any syndication can commence. Clanbrooke is a Registered Syndicator under Company Law and holds an ASIC dealers license (260214).
One of the initial aspirations of Clanbrooke Racing was to introduce Syndication to country areas. As a result, Clanbrooke have created and still manage many Syndicates based in rural Victoria and NSW with members of such Syndicates hailing from places far and wide. Clanbrooke have also introduced leased horses in country areas as a more cost-effective means of horse ownership. Paying only a small Management fee, prospective owners can find themselves with their names in the racebook for a fraction of the normal ingoing cost. Clanbrooke holds a couple of marquees in Regional areas every year in order to touch base with regional Members and also help support Country Racing in general.
Clanbrooke has grown substantially over the past few years and now manage a number of city-based Partnerships as well. Although Clanbrooke remains committed to providing options for every horse enthusiast, Partnership options are now offered right up to the top end. The proximity of Members based in Melbourne facilitates social occasions such as stable visits and `Naming Nights' at which Partnership Members meet and choose a name for their horse. Proximity to Melbourne is not necessary, however, as Clanbrooke also has a number of Members based overseas.
Clanbrooke now manage over 30 Syndicates/Partnerships on a weekly basis.
