SECRET SAVINGS spent his formative racing years in North America where he
won 5 races, none at stakes level. Transferred to the Gai Waterhouse stable at
6, SECRET SAVINGS went on to race only 4 times on Australian turf,
winning three races – the AJC Doncaster H. [G1] in track record time, the
G3 STC Frederick Clissold H. and the G3 NJC Newcastle H. Following
his untimely death as a result of his long-term battle with laminitis at the end
of 2008, this colt is from SECRET SAVING’s final yearling crop to be
offered for sale.
At stud, SECRET SAVINGS is the sire of 277 winners from 436 runners incl.
17 stakes winners.
His 3 G1 winners to date are; DASH FOR CASH (VRC Australian G. [G1];
MRC Futurity S. [G1]), now an emerging Victorian sire, 7 time Group
winning racemare SHAMEKHA who is currently in foal to ENCOSTA DE LAGO,
as well as 2009 MRC Oakleigh Pl. [G1] winner SWISS ACE, victorious
at G2 level as recently as 25th April. In 2008 alone, SECRET SAVINGS
was represented by the Group/Listed winners SWISS ACE (above), CAYMANS
(MRC Sandown G.[G3]) and ACORNS (QTC J.F. Meynink S.[L]),
as well as another 3 SP’s.
This is the 2nd foal for winning dam and metropolitan placegetter RIYAH. Her
first foal is a 3YO. Second dam, WALK WATCHA TALK, is half sister to multiple
Group winning CAGEY EXUBERANCE (Belmont Astarita S. [G2]; Aqueduct
First Flight H. [G3]; Interborough H. [G3]) and SW LILY LA
BELLE and WALK WATCHA TALK boasts 4 winners at stud. Third dam PROUDEST
CAGEY, a 5 time winner herself, has had 6 winners at the track incl. CAGEY
EXUBERANCE and LILY LA BELLE (above) as well as NIMBLE, a
SW who won an incredible 32 races in total, as well as SP Wise and
Happy.
