SECRET SAVINGS
   

SECRET SAVINGS spent his formative racing years in North America where he won 5 races, none at stakes level. Transferred to the Gai Waterhouse stable at 6, SECRET SAVINGS went on to race only 4 times on Australian turf, winning three races – the AJC Doncaster H. [G1] in track record time, the G3 STC Frederick Clissold H. and the G3 NJC Newcastle H. Following his untimely death as a result of his long-term battle with laminitis at the end of 2008, this colt is from SECRET SAVING’s final yearling crop to be offered for sale.

At stud, SECRET SAVINGS is the sire of 277 winners from 436 runners incl. 17 stakes winners.
His 3 G1 winners to date are; DASH FOR CASH (VRC Australian G. [G1]; MRC Futurity S. [G1]), now an emerging Victorian sire, 7 time Group winning racemare SHAMEKHA who is currently in foal to ENCOSTA DE LAGO, as well as 2009 MRC Oakleigh Pl. [G1] winner SWISS ACE, victorious at G2 level as recently as 25th April. In 2008 alone, SECRET SAVINGS was represented by the Group/Listed winners SWISS ACE (above), CAYMANS (MRC Sandown G.[G3]) and ACORNS (QTC J.F. Meynink S.[L]), as well as another 3 SP’s.

This is the 2nd foal for winning dam and metropolitan placegetter RIYAH. Her first foal is a 2YO. Second dam, WALK WATCHA TALK, is half sister to multiple Group winning CAGEY EXUBERANCE (Belmont Astarita S. [G2]; Aqueduct First Flight H. [G3]; Interborough H. [G3]) and SW LILY LA BELLE and WALK WATCHA TALK boasts 4 winners at stud. Third dam PROUDEST CAGEY, a 5 time winner herself, has had 6 winners at the track incl. DANZERO

   

DANZERO, son of DANEHILL, won the Golden Slipper [G1] as well as the VATC Blue Diamond Prelude [G3] as a juvenile, retiring to stud at 3 following a limited 9 start career resulting in 4 wins and 3 placings. Champion 2YO Sire for 2003-04, DANZERO finished 4th that year on the General Sires table (by earnings).

At stud, DANZERO is the sire of 32 SW’s (6 x G1 winners) incl. NICONERO, the 5 time G1 winner and recent Australian Cup [G1] victor, AJC Derby [G1] winner FAIRWAY, as well as DANCE HERO, a Golden Slipper [G1] winner like DANZERO himself. With stakes winning progeny victorious from 1000m to 2400m, DANZERO’s versatility s a sire is reflected in his consistent sales results (averaging over $109K at the majors in 2008) and runners-winners ratio (currently 58.9%).

This is the 4th foal for VIVA MIRANDA, the lightly raced dam of this filly. She has one winner at the track to date. Second dam, SP Tempest Command (2d VRC Wakeful S. KELTRICE

 

KELTRICE, a son of one of the first International shuttlers in French sire KENMARE, won the Flemington Lightning S. [G1] amongst 5 wins, and was placed at Group level on a further 9 occasions (incl. 2d Caulfield Blue Diamond S. [G1]).

At stud, Victorian-based KELTRICE has proven an incredibly consistent sire, maintaining a runners-winners ratio above 65% (currently 67.4%) a figure that rivals the most elite sires including ENCOSTA DE LAGO (currently 66.3%). Hong Kong sprinter DEL ESTE (HKJC Chairman's Sprint Prize, [HK-1] is amongst KELTRICE’s 9 Stakes winners, and Australian Derby [G1] 2nd placegetter Zarek just one of his 13 progeny to be Stakes placed.

RYOLA ROSE, the dam of this colt, is half sister to multiple city winning and twice Group placed Confederate Kid (3d Carlyon S. [G2]; 2d Standish S. [G3]), as well as SP Kid Calamity (2d Derby Trial [L]; 4th Vic Derby [G1]), a winner to 2050m. At stud, RYOLA ROSE has produced 5 winners incl. 4 multiple winners, the most noted being SP Kelthorpe, the stoic galloper who has notched 10 wins and 21 placings to date.
