2YO SV Grey Filly by European Champion First Crop Sire...INVINCIBLE SPIRIT.

More photos shortly

A son of GREEN DESERT, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT was a Stakes Winner at 2and overcame a fractured pelvis at 3 to become a Group 1 winner at 4 (Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup [G1]). Winning 7 races in total, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT retired to Stud at 5 a Champion sprinter and 6f Record Breaker at the Curragh.

At stud, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT has exceeded all expectations, producing no less than 4 individual Stakes Winners from his first crop, boasting a world record 35 individual winners of 59 races and over $AU2m. in prizemoney. Despite having only 9 runners in his first Season in Australia, he was ranked no. 19 at the end of the 2006/07 season and currently sits 20th on the 2nd Season Sires list with 9 winners from 26 runners.

This is the second foal for dam GREY DOLPHIN by DOLPHIN STREET. The first foal, Lee Freedman-trained Grey Goose has started only once as a 2YO. Second dam is the G1 winner and Caulfield Cup 3rd placegetter DECK THE HALLS (STC Rosehill Guineas [G1], VRC A.V. Kewney S. [G2], VATC Autumn S. [G3]; 2nd VRC Oaks [G1] and AJC Oaks [G1] amongst 10 Group placings). At stud, DECK THE HALLS has produced SP ABOVE DECK (16 wins) amongst her 9 winning progeny. Third dam, ROYAL RUSSET, a winner in GB, has an impressive stud record, producing 11 winners from 13 to race incl. SW’s DECK THE HALLS and SCENIC ROYALE (MVRC Alister Clark S. [G2], 2nd VRC Chrysler - Cantala S. [G1], MRC Vic Health Cup [G1], MRC Toorak H. [G1]) as well as SP’s Bronze Legend, Impecious and Apple Valley.

It is interesting to note that INVINCIBLE SPIRIT’s first Stakes Winner in France, CAPTAIN MARVELLOUS (Criterium de Maisons-Laffite [G2] and G1 placed) is also out of a DOLPHIN STREET mare, Shesasmartlady.

INVINCIBLE SPIRIT did not return to the Southern hemisphere in 2007 and it is doubtful that he will return to Australian shores. There will be few opportunities to purchase shares in progeny of such a promising International Sire.

Did I mention this filly’s a grey? Everyone loves a grey.

Dean's comments: "Smallish but typical of the family. Plenty of growth to come. Terrific hindquarter and one of the best walkers at the sale. Good short canons and lovely sloping shoulders. Real chance and great value."
