RUBITON (Century – Ruby) was a magnificent racehorse, running 16 times for 10 wins incl. four G1’s in Melbourne; Cox Plate, Futurity Stakes, LKS Mackinnon Stakes, and the Underwood Stakes. A magnificent individual, RUBITON had the ability to place in the Oakleigh Plate (1100m) and Newmarket Hcp. (1200m), and then go on to win the WFA Championship race in Australia at 2000m. He was Horse of the Year in 1987-88.

With one crop still to race, RUBITON has maintained an incredible 65% runners-winners ratio that includes 36 Stakes Winners (7 G1 winners) and earnings of over $35 million. Group 1 winners by RUBITON have included million dollar earners FIELDS OF OMAGH, sprinter/miler ADAM, RUBITANO and FLAVOUR. He is the broodmare sire of Stakes Winners such as DASH FOR CASH, DANERICH and KING OF DANES, all now at stud themselves.

This is the 2nd foal for winning dam, ESPADA. Both the 2nd and 3rd dams of this filly boast perfect records at stud. Second dam, G1 winning USE THE SPACE (SAJC Australasian Oaks [G1]), is the dam of seven winners whilst third dam, FRENCH EDITION, is the dam of six winners from six to race.

Tony Vasil’s comments: “On the recommendation of my breaker and pre trainer Julien Welsh I took this horse on. I have huge respect for Julien as he has broken in many of my star performers including Elvstroem, Lucky Secret and Haradasun. His astuteness as a judge of horse flesh was correct as Miura (Rubiton x Espada) is a wonderful mover and gives me a great feel on the training track. I am hopeful this preparation that I can push this filly to the trial stage and maybe the races. I feel that given some time that she will develop into a lovely type.”
