Remarkably, for a horse retired and then brought back into work, Apparel Prince did himself and owners proud at the one raceday a year at Carrathool, storming home to notch his first win by 2.5 lengths. Members were understandably thrilled and the form he showed indicates that there may just be a few more wins in the old boy. Running twice more since his maiden win, Apparel Prince could only manage fourth and was then turned out for a much-deserved spell. We anticipate his return to Jodie's stable in early May.

Remarkably, Members are now looking forward to Apparel Prince's first start, as a 4YO, at Carathool on Wednesday. Although a non-TAB affair, this is a day that both Jodie and Dean thought would never arrive as the gelding has certainly had his fair share of problems on the long road to the races (see below!). This gelding, bred by Bohron Park in conjunction with Clanbrooke, has been reinstated in the Clanbrooke stable after we retired him at 4, and we certainly hope he displays some of the ability Jodie knows he has on raceday.

Jodie is to have AP looked at in the first few days of August. A decision is imminent.

01.07.2007

No news as yet. Jodie will have the vet look at him next month to assess whether she thinks he can return to his best.

01.06.2007

We are still awaiting advice from Jodie as to when she will bring Apparel Prince back into work.

Recovering remarkably well in the paddock at Albury, Jodie is looking at when she can bring Apparel Prince back into work. Given Fubu's amazing runners-winners statistics to date - he has 10 winners from only a handful of runners to date, we certainly hope Apparel Prince can stand up and show us the ability that Jodie believes he has - on the racetrack.

Unfortunately Apparel Prince fell quite seriously ill with pneumonia in March, hospitalised for a number of days before he was stabilised. The prognosis in relation to future racing was not good and Clanbrooke reluctantly decided to close the Partnership. As Jodie believes he has some ability, she decided to nurse him back to health and give him one more go. On this advice, a couple of Members elected to keep paying agistment costs until such time that he is ready to return to work.

Apparel Prince trialed very well at Albury mid-January, whilst shinsore. On inspection a few days later, Jodie found no heat in his legs and decided to keep him in work. However, an unfortunate collision with a post late in the month requiring minor vet attention meant that his inaugural run had to be postponed. Jodie is confident that he can recover quickly and hit the track running later in February.

Solid pace work was the order of the day towards the end of December and a trial is now expected in the third week of January.

01.12.2006

Returning at the beginning of November, Jodie was pleased with his condition. Hitting track work in the last week of November, he was only trotting and cantering but due to speed up throughout December.

01.11.2006

Apparel Prince spent the month of October but is expected to return to Jodie's stables in early November.

01.10.2006

A great start to the month saw Apparel Prince win his trial mid-month, performing better than expected considering he was just starting to show signs of shinsoreness. By the next morning it was clear that he could not go on and was sent to the paddock for a rest. We anticipate him back in the stable towards the end of October.

Following the conclusion of a couple of Clanbrooke's Partnerships, the Fubu - Little Red Jug Colt suddenyl found himself fully subscribed. Named `Apparel Prince,' the colt has breezed through his first full preparation and at the end of August is ready to trial. Expect to see him at the races in September.
