Recovering exceptionally well from his operation, Schwarzer is already doing 3/4
pace in trackwork and we expect him back at the track in the not too distant
future.
01.02.2008
Following a terrific few months that saw Schwarzer boost his tally by 1 win and
2 placings, it was disappointing to find him with small fractures following his
3rd placing at Sandown in early January. Although not necessarily
career-threatening, it requires treatment as well as a three month holiday. As
such, Schwarzer is now resting in the paddocks at Riverend Park and we expect
him back in the sables by May to commence his Spring campaign.
01.11.2007
A short stay in the paddock saw Schwarzer come back refreshed. Now three
runs into this preparation, he ran third at Cranbourne and then fourth at
Geelong before turning in a fantastic run at Geelong. Although he was left at
the gates when the starter let them go too quickly, he came from behind to run
second. His sectionals were phenomenal and he proved at Geelong that he is a
city class horse. He may even get a run over the Cup Carnival.
01.08.2007
Poor tracks and scratchings saw Schwarzer go to the final of the Winter Bowl at
Werribee on 20th July having not raced for over 4 weeks. A Heavy track, the meet
was lucky not to be transferred and, in these conditions, Schwarzer ran a
valiant third and notched up a Metropolitan placing. Although nearing the end of his preparation, Brian will look for
a follow up race for him, preferably as a 3YO.
01.07.2007
Coming off his win at Ballarat, Schwarzer again ran at Ballarat, this time on a
heavy track. Finding the race heavy going, he finished a solid fourth. However,
it was his next start at Bendigo in a Heat for the Winter Bowl Series where
Schwarzer truly excelled, racing to his second win this preparation. He will now
contest the final of the Winter Bowl in late July.
01.06.2007
Unlucky at Warnambool on the first day of the month, when coming from 8 lengths
from the leader in the straight to finish fifth, Schwarzer made amends at his
next start at Ballarat where despite a last minute jockey change, he cruised to
a 4L win. Given the fact that he is still not 100% fit, his next few starts
should prove more than interesting.
01.05.2007
Returning to work around the middle of April, Schwarzer has not lost much
fitness and Brian has set him for a start at Warnambool on 1st May.
01.04.2007
Brian deemed, following the Mornington race, that the gelding could benefit from
a quick 3 week freshen up.
01.03.2007
Two starts for Schwarzer in February, the first a pleasing second in Bendigo and
the second a rather disappointing mid-field affair where he found it difficult
to recover after slightly missing the start. Brian will look for more ground on
a bigger track for his next start.
01.02.2007
Schwarzer made his tack debut on a very warm - actually, hot - Australia Day at Kyneton - and a
great start it was. Possibly losing it at the barrier, he came second by a
whisker with many Members on course to witness. He certainly has a motor and a
first win shouldn't be too far away.
01.01.2007
Schwarzer came back into the stables in mid December, doing a fair amount of
treadmill and pace work to get his fitness levels back up. During his break he
put on plenty of weight and filled out in the right places and Brian could not
be happier. The Autumn goal is to find something for him during the Adelaide
Carnival.
01.12.2006
Although set to have another trial in late November, Schwarzer then appeared a
little scratchy in his work and Brian decided that a four week letup would do
him the world of good.
01.11.2006
Now fully Syndicated and named `Schwarzer,' the gelding began October in super
fashion with an impressive trial win at Ballarat, subsequently highlighted on
TVN. Schwarzer went on to run second (by a half head) at Cranbourne in his
second trial, the front two runners eight lengths ahead of third. It was a must
win for the winner as a probable overseas sale depended upon the victory. Brian
has decided that as the gelding remains a little green one more trial is in
order - then to the races.
01.10.2006
The Keeper Colt continued to impress Brian throughout September, culminating in
a terrific trial win on 2nd October. A first start is yet to be set for our big
colt but given Brian's praise, we expect him to make a stir on the track
throughout the Spring.
Our colt was also named in September - he is Schwarzer, named after the
Socceroo's goalkeeping champion. Nicely named we think.
01.09.2006
Members of other Brian Jenkins' Partnerships met at Riverend Park in the month
of August to meet their horses, Brian, and inspect magnificent Riverend Park.
Many Members attending on the day were also impressed with the Keeper colt,
commenting that he is even more impressive in real life. He is a magnificent
horse and we are currently rushing through paperwork in an attempt to register
and name him so that he may trial.
01.08.2006
The Keeper Colt really picked up the pace throughout July and at the end of the
month, Registration papers are being filled out, names being submitted, and the
colt almost ready to trial. We expect a trial date to be set around the middle
of August.
01.07.2006
The Keeper Colt continues to please Brian in his work and is now only weeks from
trialling. Brian is confident that he will get to the races this time in.
